Been playing with colors while sketching in watercolor lately. The textures and tones water colors quickly allow to be produced makes for a succinct painting session. I'm always looking to sneak a painting session in. Here are some of my recent sketches that turned out better than average. 

Spent a week being a tourist in the Yucatan, Mexico. It was hot and we saw lots of limestone.

Saw this in the bosque not that long ago, painted it a couple days ago. 

Recent selections from the pocket sketchbook. The first drawing was made on a plane a few minutes ago. I took a scooter to the airport as the sun rose. Now I'm in the clouds.

It's been more than a few years since I've done this whole blog thing. Thought I'd dive back in. Here are some photos I recently edited:    They're all shots from last summer (2025) I'm making photos daily and I try to paint once a week. Here's my most recent oil painting:  've been watercolor painting a bit lately and I find it's a great excuse for a little bike ride to a nice lookout in town. Maybe I'll post some of those soon.
